VijayaDashami - Sindoor Khela

VijayDashmi is the last day of Durga Puja on that Devi Durga Visarjan ritual takes place. In the late morning or after the Bengali women celebrate the ritual of Sindoor( vermillion)  Khela.  Sindoor Khela or the game of smearing vermillion is one of the much-awaited ceremonies of Bengali married women. Mainly the vermillion is offered at Her feet and later a pinch is applied on Her forehead as a mark of respect by married women. This ritual is called Boron. Sindoor Khela symbolizes the power of womanhood and mainly the power of the women or Shakti to protect her husband from all maladies and will respect the companionship through thick and thin. Women clad in red and white colored sarees while they come to play the vermillion along with beautiful jewelry to represent Devi Durga’s Shakti and to seek the goddess’s blessings for the long life of their husbands, children, and other family members. Sula Vineyard is 174 KM from Navi Mumbai, Kamothe area. 4hrs drive from NaviMumbai with break of 45 mins. Roads are beautiful and also has very nice scenic beauty of western ghats especially when we crossed kasara and Igatpuri area. Shirgaon Shirdi Darshan

Shirgoan is place very close to Talegaon. It is 93 km from Kamothe. It takes around 1hr 20 mins to reach to the temple from Kamothe. It is replica of Shirdi temple. One good thing I found, no long queue for Darshan.  Environment is very peaceful.   Shri Sai Sansthan Prati Shiridi, Shirgoan- temple complex. Entrance of the temple and they have the Baba Gurusthan temple as they have in Shiridi temple.  Place where the continuously fires is on and Bibhuti is formed from the ashes. Baba Gurusthan temple -  Gurusthan means ‘the place where the Guru resides’. Since the Gurusthan at Shirdi has a neem tree under which Sai Baba used to rest, it was but natural to expect one at its replica in Shirgaon. Play area. Local people have put this re-creational elements for the kids. Annachatra is also called the Rajwada (the Palace) - is an architectural marvel, where devotees have 'Maha-Prasada' every afternoon.

Drive to Gadeshwar Dam (Photo Story)

Gadeshwar dam is about 20 KM from Mansorovar(Kamothe). It is beautiful place to visit . The place has rich natural beauty. It took 45 mins to reach till dam based on the traffic. Further ahead from the dam there are small villages and very nice mountain scape. Kolhapur - Kanheri Math - Siddhagiri Gramjivan Museum

Siddhagiri Gramjivan Wax Museum (Kaneri Math)  at Kaneri,  Kolhapur district ,  Maharashtra , is a sculpture museum. This museum showcases different aspects of  Gramjivan  (village life). The museum spread over acres of land. It will take minimum 2 hrs to complete all the section of the museum. It is a great place for art lovers. Model of village inside the museum. Kolhapur - Shahu Palace Photo Diary

Early morning 7:30 AM, we headed to Shahu Palace Museum, though the museum opens at 9:30 AM in the morning. But there is small zoo and ground lake. Early morning at Shahuji museum is perfect time for photography. Ducks at Zoo Monochrome shot Duck@Zoo Swans at the lake. Early hours you get the golden light reflecting the lake water create a very nice sceneic nature beauty Deer @ Zoo. Swans at the lake. The place has it own beauty in the morning hours.
