Kolhapur - Kanheri Math - Siddhagiri Gramjivan Museum

Siddhagiri Gramjivan Wax Museum (Kaneri Math) at Kaneri, Kolhapur district, Maharashtra, is a sculpture museum.


This museum showcases different aspects of Gramjivan (village life). The museum spread over acres of land. It will take minimum 2 hrs to complete all the section of the museum. It is a great place for art lovers.

Inside the Siddhagiri Museum there is a Shiva Temple with Shivling and it is believed that this was installed about 500 years ago

The place also have some nice sculptures of the our freedom struggle movement.

Sculptures show Yoga postures which are practiced by Muni-Rishi in the early days. One of the finest sculptures according to me.

Owe Dam Kharghar

It is located at Kharghar. It is good place to trek in the early morning. The location of the Dam is near to Golf Course of Kharghar. Once you cross Golf Course, Kharghar you will find the muddy roads and that gives you feel of rural atmosphere. The best time to visit the place is after monsoon and during early hours of the day. The view from the half way toward the dam. The single hut make the scene more beautiful Everyone who likes to photograph nature should carry their gear because you will find lot of interesting element which can be captured. The pathway leads to the top and towards the dam The path leading towards the dam is safe and not very steep. I recommend people who are planning to climb to the top should wear sport shoe.
