VijayDashmi is the last day of Durga Puja on that Devi Durga Visarjan ritual takes place. In the late morning or after the Bengali women celebrate the ritual of Sindoor( vermillion) Khela. Sindoor Khela or the game of smearing vermillion is one of the much-awaited ceremonies of Bengali married women. Mainly the vermillion is offered at Her feet and later a pinch is applied on Her forehead as a mark of respect by married women. This ritual is called Boron. Sindoor Khela symbolizes the power of womanhood and mainly the power of the women or Shakti to protect her husband from all maladies and will respect the companionship through thick and thin.
